Green Latrine, your source for green, portable potties in the Seattle area celebrates all things green this St. Patrick’s Day. Our namesake color is one of the biggest things about the one day a year when everyone gets to be Irish, and we’re here to report that it is, in fact, easy being’ green! Here’s a list of a few of our favorite ways to celebrate the prosperous color of the Emerald Isles this March!
Plants! We Love ‘Em!
Plants are just the living embodiment of prosperity. We’re so lucky to live in such a lush area, but we absolutely adore a verdant display of houseplants. They’re natural air-fresheners (something we know a lot about here at Green Latrine), they promote the good “juju” that comes with nurturing something as it grows, and their symbology as bringers of wealth is unparalleled. Whether you want to get literal with a Money Plant, or Lucky Bamboo, or a little subtler with a Monstera, or Philodendron, your home is guaranteed to feel elevated by the good energy of plants. Feel nervous about being a plant mom/dad? There are numerous apps which help develop your green thumb. Here’s a review of some of them.
Paint Your Door
Our porta-potties all have green doors of course. You can capture that beauty at home, too! According to principles of Feng Shui, painting your front door green introduces the wood element and brings new opportunities and growth. Extra points if your door is South-facing (which happens to be connected to fame, reputation, and how you are seen by others.) Get more info here.
Meditate On Green
Green is the color that represents the Heart Chakra. It also represents balance, nature, rebirth, prosperity, and progress. According to color psychology, the color green stimulates the pituitary gland, relaxes muscles and increases blood histamine levels. This can lead to reduced allergy symptoms and dilated blood vessels for smoother muscle contractions, and has been shown to improve reading ability, comprehension, and creativity. Feel free to bring a book into one of our porta-toilets! At home, try a guided meditation to open the Heart Chakra. There are numerous free videos available on YouTube. Here’s one we like.
