Seasons Greeting, Washington State! In a season where we find ourselves indoors more often, our trusted fleet of rentable local porta-toilets is still at home outside, ready to welcome those in need into their pristine, spacious porta-potty environs, sparkling like freshly tinseled trees, as a result of their 10-point Green Clean cleaning process. While our Green Latrine porta-toilets patiently await being called to your holiday events and gatherings, we humans at Green Latrine want to help bring some of the music of the season to keep you company inside. Here’s a little playlist we compiled to help keep you cozy and boppin’ this month!
A Band in Seattle Christmas- Full Album
Since Green Latrine is proud to be the only locally-owned portable toilet rental company in the Seattle-area, let’s start with an album chock full of some of Washington State’s own talent. Back in 2016, twenty-one Seattle-area artists convened at Victory Studios to shoot a Christmas special, with original songs and new spins on classic favorites. Four years later, you can still capture the magic by listening to the album, available to buy on Amazon or stream on Spotify. It features a variety of local bands, including The Staxx Brothers, Blake Lewis, Bread and Butter, Jessica Lynne, Whitney Monge, Whitney Lyman, Jupe Jupe, Jake Hemming and the Bereaved, Afton Prater, Charlie and the Rays, Vaudeville Etiquette, Sundae + Mr Goessl, The Bend, Star Anna, Furniture Girls, Champagne Honeybee, Good Company, Geoffrey Castle, Sweetkiss Momma, The Malady of Sevendials, and The Crying Shame. Celebrate the holidays and your home state of Washington, at the same time!
Frosty The Snowman- Cocteau Twins
The ethereal dreampop band responsible for so many soft, lava-lamp moods of the 90’s brings their Scottish sensibilities to the story of Frosty, leaving us with the warm fuzzies. Something about the way Elizabeth Fraser’s layered vocals dance and swirl together makes us feel like watching marshmallows swirl atop a hot mug of cocoa.
You’re A Mean One Mr. Grinch- Whirling Dervishes
The Dr. Seuss classic, delivered by a New Jersey band whose sound has been compared to Roxy Music and Nine Inch Nails. What better vibe to illuminate the cactus-like charms of everyone’s favorite cave-dwelling antagonist of Whoville?
Merry Christmas I Don’t Wanna Fight Tonight- The Ramones
Put down your dukes! Rowdy NYC rock and rollers, The Ramones lay down the peace-loving law, while keeping the beat bright, with this lesser-known homage to the season of silent night.
If We Make It Through December- Merle Haggard
Did Merle get the 2020 memo when he released this good ol’ country “the dog stole my pick up truck”-style song way back in 1973? Everything is gonna be alright. Merle says so. (December pending.)
We hope this playlist inspires your celebrations this holiday season, and if those celebrations find you with a need to rent reliable, clean and green Porta-potties we hope you’re inspired to call Green Latrine at , or visit www.gogreenlatrine.com We’ll make sure you’re good to go!
